Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze Honored for Promoting Love, Peace, and Conscience

FOWPAL honored with U.S. President's Lifetime Achievement Award for contributing 1.2 million hours of service to the US

The Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL), under the leadership of its president, Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, has been promoting love, peace, and conscience since its founding in California in 2000. Hundreds of FOWPAL volunteers in the U.S. have contributed 1.2 million hours of selfless service over the past 20 plus years and have been recognized by President Joe Biden with the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

During the "2023 World Leader Summit of Love and Peace” organized by FOWPAL, the Permanent Mission of Kiribati to the UN, and six other organizations at the Westin New York Grand Central Hotel on March 31 in celebration of the fourth International Day of Conscience, Rev. Dr. Agorom C. Dike, founder and president of the Caribbean and African Faith-Based Leadership Conference and liaison to the White House Faith-Based Cabinet Offices, presented the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award to the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL). To his knowledge, this is the first organization to receive this award for contributing 1.2 million hours of service to the United States and beyond.

Dr. Dike said that FOWPAL has traveled to 101 countries and has built bridges of peace between many presidents, promoting conscience and making a meaningful difference in the world. He read a letter from President Biden, emphasizing, “The American story depends not on any one of us, not on some of us, but on all of us. I congratulate you on taking it upon yourself to contribute to the public good, and I’m proud to present you with the President’s Lifetime Achievement award in recognition of your 1,200,000 hours of service to this great Nation.”

President Biden also stated in the letter, “By sharing your time and passion, you are helping discover and deliver solutions to the challenges we face - solutions that we need now more than ever. We are living in a moment that calls for hope and light and love. Hope for our futures, light to see our way forward, and love for one another. Through your service, you are providing all three. On behalf of the American people, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to you for your volunteer leadership, and I encourage you to continue to answer the call to serve. The country is counting on you.”

Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, president of FOWPAL, stated in his acceptance speech: "I would like to thank the office of the president for presenting me with the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of the 1.2 million hours FOWPAL members have put into serving America. The honor belongs to all the heroes with conscience who are committed to the public welfare."

Dr. Hong continued to explain, “Through cultural exchanges, FOWPAL has built close partnerships with mutual trust, respect and caring. We encourage dialogues to bridge the differences in opinions, races, cultures and religions to promote peace and harmony. With the promotion of education of conscience, we inspire the innate consciences in humanity and encourage people to follow the guidance of conscience so as to achieve respect, tolerance and caring between people and among nations.”

He also stated, “We look forward to uniting all the powers from everyone to spread the good influence of love and conscience to work for a future of hope and brightness for peace, security and sustainability.”

Dr. Hong has led the worldwide members of Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy and FOWPAL to self-fund their visits to 101 countries to promote conscience, love and peace through cultural exchanges, conferences, dialogues, and other means. Their peace efforts have been supported and recognized in the U.S. and internationally.

April 5, 2023 will mark the 4th International Day of Conscience. Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze was instrumental in the United Nations’ adoption of the International Day of Conscience. Beginning on April 5, 2018, FOWPAL worked with the Permanent Missions of various nations to the United Nations, making the UN’s designation of April 5 as the International Day of Conscience possible.
