The National Day Celebration of the Sultanate of Oman Cultivation of Heart to Build a Kingdom of Harmony

On November 18, the Sultanate of Oman Commercial Office especially invited guests and representatives from various nations to celebrate the 35th National Day. Mr. Sulaiman Al-Mughairi, the Executive Director of the Commercial Office, highlighted in his speech that Oman had been an underdeveloped country and now one of the most advanced countries around the world under the leadership and governance of the Sultanate of Oman, Sultan Qaboos bin Said al-Said. Not only modern infrastructure is built, the country people are all well educated.

Recognized as the “Switzerland of the Middle East”, the Sultanate of Oman is greatly supported by friends from all walks of life. Many groups brought their events to extend kind greetings and congratulations on this special occasion, including magic show, Rope Dance, and the fine cultural performance by Tai Ji Men. The Tai Ji Men performances were highly appreciated by Mr. Al-Mughairi and the guests. FOWPAL members were invited to the National Day Celebration as well to share the message of love and peace.

When interviewed, Mr. Al-Mughairi mentioned that people are able to know how to live a more peaceful life through cultural exchanges and the understanding of different cultures. He also stressed that the current issue the world faces is someone forcing others to accept his logics and mindset without negotiation. However, he does believe that problems will be solved if people learn to respect and accommodate diversity. Mr. Al-Mughairi especially pointed out that Oman is a country of peace, and he expected the receptive spirit could be demonstrated in the party to facilitate communications between different cultures.

The key for the Sultanate of Oman to drive the country toward modernization did not rest on the rich deposit of oil, but instead, the reform initiated by the Sultanate of Oman, Sultan Qaboos bin Said al-Said. From building roads to establishing the educational system, which advocates gender equality, reforms differentiate the modern country against the kingdom in the old days. And it now becomes one of the most popular resorts in the world.

Encouraging the world leaders to realize the power of love and peace is the motivation of FOWPAL’s engagement in inviting leaders to turn the symbolic Key to move the world forward in the United Nations, September 2005. Mr. Al-Mughairi’s words support the idea that the world leaders are the key that turns the world around and a thought of goodness will bring human’s future to brightness. FOWPAL always believes that a global village of beauty and harmony will be achieved by connecting all humanity to work together.
