Occupy Wall Street with conscience

Spreading positive energies of love far away

Wall Street is the center of financial trades in the world. On days around August 25, passengers passing by Wall Street in a hurry were attracted to the music and dancing performance of a flash mob. This group of youth combined energetic forms of martial arts with brisk music and dancing. Many spectators were moving their bodies along with this group of young people. Group members are composed of students, lawyers, architects and musicians. They are international volunteers promoting the movement of An Era of Conscience organized by Federation of World Peace and Love.

In the face of worsening natural environment and heightened geopolitical risks, this group of young people organized “Saving the Conscience” days before the 65th Annual DPI/NGO Conference. They planned to bring the message of An Era of Conscience to the United Nations to enhance global awareness of the importance of conscience. The movement of An Era of Conscience was officially launched on January 1, 2014 by Association of World Citizens, NGO in Consultative Status with ECOSOC and Associated with the UN DPI, Federation of World Peace and Love, and Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy. Dr. Hong Tao-Tze, the initiator of the movement, points out “Kind hearts and good intentions are the positive energies safeguarding the sustainable development of the earth.” It is expected that the awareness of common destiny among global citizens will be increased and the conscience in everyone’s heart be collected to defuse the risks human beings face and to move the world towards sustainability.

Volunteer Chang Chao-Tai expressed that “The flash mob performance is more interesting and appealing to people. We hope that more people will be aware of this worthy movement. We are not here to perform for money. What we want to achieve is to spread the love to people around you and make conscience prevail on earth.” The volunteers wore a tag of smiling earth and a flag with An Era of Conscience and invited people to promote the movement. Everyone is the leader of his/her conscience. By starting from ourselves and spreading the effect to others, we can all exert positive influences of goodness and create a virtuous cycle. Spectators did the conscience gesture with volunteers, symbolizing actions to “safeguard the consciences in our heart and create a new era of love and peace”. People happily greeted each other with the gesture of conscience even though this is just a chance meeting on the street.

Dai Cheng-Ping, the TV camera man, was deeply moved by the performance of volunteers and shared his words of conscience “As a reporter, I would like to convey the consciences of people’s hearts in my reporting.” A French visitor, Segura, said “I would like to dance with them.” He is going to check out the website and get more information about the movement and introduce families and friends to participate. “I will try to do good things in my daily life, to educate my kids well, and to let them educate their kids so as to make the world better.”, said he. Among the volunteers are youth who flew to New York to perform on their own accounts. They hoped to inspire the consciences in people’s hearts with singing and dancing. The flash mob has overwhelmed the Big Apple with passion and vigor and attracted press coverage. They have given people surprises and warmth in Times Square, Stature of Liberty, Wall Street, and Central Park.

Dr. Hong had it that “With conscience comes a peaceful world. With happiness comes a joyful family.” The best social work is to inspire consciences in our hearts. The details of the movement of An Era of Conscience are posted on www.fowpal.org/aneoc .Everyone is invited to endorse the Declaration for the Movement of An Era of Conscience on-line to convert the conscience into actions. Let us all sign up and connect the love around the world.
