Distinguished guests, dear friends, ladies and gentlemen, good day!

Under the leadership of the United Nations Environment Programme, “World Environment Day” has evolved since 1973 into the largest global platform for environmental advocacy. Millions of people worldwide participate in various forms to celebrate and respond to this initiative.

The theme for “World Environment Day” 2024 focuses on land restoration, combating desertification, and enhancing drought resilience. With up to 40% of the Earth’s land already degraded and over three-quarters of the global population expected to be affected by drought by 2050, Mother Earth has been sending constant warnings to humanity. Now, more than ever, the awakening of human conscience, the unity of the world, and proactive actions are of utmost importance. Restoring ecosystems to address climate change, saving species from extinction, respecting all lives, and living harmoniously with nature are essential to ensure our sustainable future.

A towering tree starts from a seed; the revival of generations begins now. Only kindness can atone for past mistakes. By genuinely reflecting on the root causes of problems, we can find solutions to the environmental crisis. The environment is a biosphere, and its quality directly impacts the survival of all humans and creatures globally. Many scientists and experts have warned that the Earth is in a state of emergency. “All things follow natural laws; heaven, earth, and humanity are one.” For the sustainable development of our planet, we must take immediate actions. Through the inspiration of conscience education, global citizens can understand the current predicament of the Earth, implement actions to protect it in their daily lives, and incorporate moderation in resource usage across various industries, collectively safeguarding our planet.

Defending the Earth’s environment requires conscience as our guide, awakening the conscience and capabilities of all people. Guided by conscience, everyone can think and act more responsibly and empathetically. Conscience awakening signifies a transformation in personal morals and values, leading us to scrutinize our behaviors, care for others, contribute to social welfare, protect environmental resources, and maintain ecological balance. Governments and businesses are urged to promote the awakening of global citizens’ awareness through education, advocacy, and media coverage. Everyone can be a driver and advocate for change, actively participating in environmental protection activities and practicing the concept of sustainable development.

Earth’s resources are limited, and conscience enables people to take only what is needed without greed, allowing nature to flourish continuously. Material frameworks will eventually collapse, but frameworks based on conscience will endure, impacting generations to come. Conscience guides us in discerning between true and false, right and wrong, good and bad, reminding us to consider long-term impacts, transcend self-interest, and focus on the greater public good. When everyone’s conscience is awakened, society will become more just, inclusive, and cohesive. A collective shift in consciousness will pave the way for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. United cooperation and shared beliefs will unleash unparalleled strength, overcoming challenges and creating a hopeful future.

Defending the Earth is not a task for one person alone. We have only one Earth, and in the battle to protect it, everyone is an actor. Every small action can contribute to the sustainable development of our planet.

Sincerely wishing,

Conscience and good deeds to guard the Earth,

Harmony and sustainability, happiness to endure.

Thank you all!
